Floral Skirts from eBay

Floral Skirts

These aren't quite what I was expecting as is often the case when I buy from eBay! I like the floral patterns but they are quite fitted and finish just below the knee with a little split at the back. I'm not great at sewing but I'm really tempted to make them shorter or something. What would you do?

Well, I'll admit, I quite like a ditsy print, but what you're describing sounds a bit difficult to wear, so maybe cut them off, as you say?

It's hard to say without seeing how they fit. I think they could look great at knee length with some tough shoes and a geometric top (or really slim black turtleneck). Chopping them off may make them look generic. On the other hand, it might be just the ticket - esp. if you have excellent legs and you go very short.

I'm usually a shorter is better sort of girl. The prints are pretty.

mmh - maybe you should combine them (since the patterns are much alike)and make one wider, petticoat-y skirt with just an elastic at the top? that also looks nice in a short version.

Thanks for the ideas everyone, I haven't had a chance to play around with them yet but when I do (if I'm feeling brave!) I'll post some photos...
